“Do not let what you can do today, for tomorrow” , well the interpretation of that phrase is do not procrastinate, due to it carries many disagreeable side effects, such as, stress, headache, lower scores, so on. But, what does mean procrastination? For the American Heritage Dictionary, it means “to put off doing something, especially out of habitual carelessness or laziness.” Consequently, there are many types of procrastination according your character; such as, the defiant, the crisis maker, dreamer, the worrier and the perfectionist; nonetheless, those are dangerous for our plans, if you do not deal with those. Hence, in this essay, I am going to teach you types of procrastination with their respective solution.

Let´s start, the defiant procrastinator, concerns when “many tasks seem like an unfair or unnecessary use of your time and energy. Or, you prefer to maintain control over situations and retain a sense of individuality.” (Leonardo, 2017). The most common type of procrastination is the “dreamer”, which, as its name say, is about dream; instead of do some important tasks; fortunately, you should try to differentiate between dreams that are vague and goals that are specific and measurable; in effect, make your dream into a goal: define what, when, where, who, why, and how you will complete it consecutively, for instance you will do a list and assign yourself few tasks each day to reach your target.

Well, the worrier procrastinator is the person who prefers to stay in her/his comfort zone and avoid change, at the same time, they reckon that many task seem risky or unnecessary. Hence, to overcome this stone in your way, take into a count these suggestions first, you have to stay sure and aware of the time and effort required to complete a task, by the way, do not give up just ,for “what if”; thereby , ask a friend for help, if needed. Is worth to mention that, you must break down tasks into manageable parts to reduce anxiety.

Finally, the perfectionist procrastinator often finds it difficult to begin a task because the thought of getting every detail perfect is overwhelming, here you have to be clear that perfection and excellence are different, so deliberately you can make one mistake each day, of course commit to rewarding yourself for setting and achieving realistic goals, overall work on self-acceptance skills is a good choose, and seek support from others before you fall into a deep hole of pressure.
